All valves use standard NPT threaded connections for direct replacement in existing piping. Two-piece construction allows complete disassembly for seat and seal replacement. For corrosive media or sanitary applications, see our 316 stainless steel ball valves. For chemical feed and water treatment lines where metal corrosion is a concern, see our PVC and CPVC ball valves.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these brass ball valves approved for gas service?
Only valves bearing AGA, UL, or CGA markings are approved for natural gas, propane, or LP gas service. Not every brass ball valve in our catalog carries a gas rating — check the individual product listing for certification callouts before using on gas lines. Unlisted valves are rated for water, oil, and air (600 WOG) but should not be installed on gas distribution piping where a listed valve is required by code.
Do I need a lead-free valve for drinking water or potable water service?
Yes — any valve contacting potable water in the U.S. must comply with NSF/ANSI 61 (material safety) and NSF/ANSI 372 (lead content below 0.25% weighted average). Our lead-free certified brass ball valves meet both standards and are safe for cold and hot potable water lines. Standard 600 WOG brass valves (non-lead-free) are not intended for drinking water contact. See our Lead-Free Valves and NSF/ANSI 61 Guide for details.
When would I use a locking-handle ball valve?
Locking-handle valves are used wherever the valve position must be secured against accidental or unauthorized operation. Common applications include OSHA lockout/tagout (LOTO) energy isolation programs, tamper-resistant shutoffs in public or tenant spaces, gas service shutoffs that require position verification, and regulated process lines where valve state must be locked by procedure. The locking lever accepts a standard padlock hasp to prevent the valve from being opened or closed without authorization.
