Forged brass body with PTFE seats and a chrome-plated brass ball, rated 600 WOG through 2 in. and 400 WOG in 3 and 4 in. (non-shock, cold water, oil and gas service, per the manufacturer). Full-port designs run from 1/4 in. through 4 in. Most valves have NPT threaded connections; check the end connection listed on each product. Locking-handle valves accept a padlock; confirm the handle meets your site lockout procedure.

Are these brass ball valves rated for gas service?

Not every brass ball valve in this collection is rated for gas service. Use a valve on natural gas, propane, or LP gas only if the manufacturer rates that specific valve for gas service and it meets your local fuel gas code — check the individual product listing and ask us to confirm the manufacturer's documentation before installing.

Do I need a lead-free valve for drinking water or potable water service?

For drinking-water service, specify a lead-free valve and confirm the requirements that apply to your project. Standard 600 WOG brass valves (not lead-free) are not intended for drinking-water contact. Our lead-free brass ball valves are in the lead-free valves collection. Midland's product documentation lists our lead-free ball-valve family as IAPMO- and CSA-listed to NSF/ANSI 61, NSF/ANSI 372 and IAPMO IGC 157 (lead-free). Apex has not independently confirmed the current listing certificate for every SKU; confirm current certification documentation before specifying a valve for regulated or potable-water service.

When would I use a locking-handle ball valve?

Locking-handle valves accept a padlock on the handle so the valve position can be secured against accidental or unauthorized operation. Confirm the handle meets your site lockout procedure before relying on it for energy isolation.
