3-Way Ball Valves
3-way ball valves direct flow between two outlet paths from a single inlet — diverting, mixing, or isolating lines with one quarter-turn handle instead of multiple 2-way valves and tees. Apex Flow Solutions stocks Midland high-pressure steel block-body 3-way ball valves in NPT and SAE straight-thread connections from 1/4 in. through 2-1/2 in., rated for hydraulic and high-pressure fluid service.
L-Port Flow Switching
Our 3-way block valves use an L-port ball: the flow path makes a 90° turn inside the ball, connecting the common port to either of the two outlet ports depending on handle position. This makes them ideal for diverting service — switching a pump discharge between two destinations, selecting between two tanks or gauges, or isolating one branch while feeding another. The center position on many configurations blocks all ports for positive shutoff.
High-Pressure Block Body Construction
Unlike cast brass tee-pattern valves, these are machined steel block bodies built for hydraulic working pressures, with Buna-N seals standard and Viton (FKM) seal options for hydrocarbon and aggressive media compatibility. SAE straight-thread (O-ring boss) versions seal without tape or dope and are the standard for hydraulic power units; NPT versions suit general industrial piping.
Choosing a 3-Way Valve
Match the connection type to your system — SAE O-ring boss for hydraulics, NPT for general plumbing and process lines. Size by the line thread, and choose Viton seals where fuels, oils at high temperature, or aggressive chemicals are present. For two-position on/off service on a single line, see our brass ball valves and stainless steel ball valves.
