How a swing check valve works
A swing check has a hinged disc. Forward flow pushes the disc open; when flow stops or reverses, the disc swings back onto its seat under its own weight and the reverse flow. Install it with the flow arrow on the body pointing downstream, and follow the manufacturer's installation instructions.
