Overview
The Midland 10074 is a 3/16 in. brass SAE 45-degree flare cap. It threads onto a male flare fitting and seats against the 45-degree flare cone to seal off an unused or pressurized port without a tubing run. Its 1/2 in. hex tightens quickly and the brass body resists corrosion. Rated to 1900 psi, it caps gas, fuel, and refrigeration flare connections cleanly.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a flare cap do?
It threads over a male flare fitting and seals against the 45-degree cone to close off a port that has no tubing connected.
Does it need thread sealant?
No. The SAE 45-degree flare seat seals metal-to-metal; no tape or dope is required.
What is the thread size?
3/8-24, matching a 3/16 in. SAE 45-degree male flare fitting.
Is a cap the same as a plug?
A cap covers an external male flare; a plug fits inside a female port. Use the cap on male flare fittings.
