Overview

The Midland 10013 is a 1/8 in. brass hex short rod nut for SAE 45-degree flare connections. It threads over a flared 1/8 in. tube end and draws the flare against its mating seat to form a leak-tight metal-to-metal seal. The compact short-rod body and 0.37 in. hex make it easy to tighten in confined runs. Rated to 2800 psi, it serves copper, brass, aluminum, and steel hydraulic tubing.

Typical Applications

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a short rod nut?
It is a flare nut with a shortened body, used where clearance is tight and a standard-length nut will not fit.

Does it need thread sealant?
No. The SAE 45-degree flare seals metal-to-metal; no tape or dope is required on the flare seat.

What size tube does it fit?
It fits a 1/8 in. tube that has been properly 45-degree flared.

What is the difference from a light-pattern nut?
Light-pattern nuts have a thinner wall and lower pressure rating; this standard 10013 is rated to 2800 psi.
