PVC and CPVC valves are corrosion-resistant plastic-body valves. The non-metallic wetted path — PVC or CPVC body (EPDM seals on the PVC lines, per the manufacturer) — is used where metal valves are not suitable. Media suitability depends on the specific fluid, concentration, temperature, pressure and seat/seal materials — tell us your service conditions and we will confirm suitability with the manufacturer.
Apex Flow Solutions carries PVC ball valves and PVC check valves in NPT and socket (solvent-weld) connections, from 1/2 in. through 2-1/2 in., in both Schedule 40 (white) and Schedule 80 (gray) bodies.
PVC vs. CPVC
The manufacturer rates the PVC ball valves 150 psi at 73°F. Temperature limits for the PVC and CPVC lines are not printed in the manufacturer catalog we carry — confirm with us before specifying for elevated-temperature service.
Socket vs. NPT Connections
Socket-end (solvent-weld) valves are cemented permanently into PVC piping and are the standard for fixed installations where the valve will not need to be removed for service. Female NPT-threaded valves are removable and reusable — the right choice when valve replacement is anticipated or the system uses threaded connections throughout. Confirm seal material and media suitability with us before specifying for chemical service.
