Overview

The Anderson Metals 00068-0808 is a brass light-pattern adapter joining 1/2 in. compression tubing to a 1/2 in. male NPTF thread. It makes a leak-tight transition from copper, aluminum, or thermoplastic tube to threaded pipe without soldering, using a brass sleeve compressed by the 11/16-20 nut. The 0.81 in. hex gives a solid wrench grip during make-up.

Typical Applications

This adapter is used where 1/2 in. soft tubing must terminate at a 1/2 in. female NPT port: instrument air lines, fuel-oil and burner supply runs, water service connections, and equipment hookups that see low-to-medium pressure without heavy vibration. The brass body suits potable water, compressed air, and petroleum-based fluids.

FAQ

Do I need a sleeve and nut, or are they included?
This adapter ships as a complete light-pattern assembly with the brass sleeve and nut for the 1/2 in. compression end.

How tight should the compression nut be?
Hand-tighten, then turn roughly one to one-and-a-quarter additional turns with a wrench until the sleeve grips the tube. Do not over-torque soft tubing.

Does the NPT end need thread sealant?
Yes. Apply PTFE tape or pipe dope to the 1/2-14 male NPT thread before assembly.

Will it work on plastic tubing?
Yes, it is rated for copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tube; use a tube insert with softer plastics for best sealing.
