Overview
The Midland 10075HD is a 1/4 in. heavy-duty brass SAE 45-degree flare cap. It threads onto a male flare fitting and seats against the 45-degree cone to seal off an unused or pressurized port with no tubing attached. The reinforced heavy-duty body and 1/2 in. hex make it easy to torque against vibration, and the 7/16-20 thread matches a 1/4 in. SAE flare. Rated to 1400 psi.

Typical Applications
Caps a 1/4 in. male SAE 45-degree flare port on LP and natural gas, flammable-liquid, refrigeration, power steering, instrumentation, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems. The heavy-duty pattern suits ports that see higher torque, pressure testing, or repeated service where a standard cap might deform.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does heavy duty mean here?
A thicker, reinforced cap body for higher torque and pressure-test duty versus a standard flare cap.
Does it need thread sealant?
No. The SAE 45-degree flare seat seals metal-to-metal; no tape or dope is required.
What thread does it have?
7/16-20, matching a 1/4 in. SAE 45-degree male flare fitting.
Cap or plug?
A cap covers an external male flare; a plug fits inside a female port. Use this cap on male flare fittings.
