T-Bolt Clamps
T-bolt hose clamps deliver significantly higher and more uniform clamping force than standard worm drive clamps, making them the correct choice for large-diameter hose, high-pressure connections, and high-vibration environments where a worm drive clamp would loosen or fail. The wide stainless steel band distributes clamping load evenly around the hose OD without point-loading, and the T-bolt and barrel nut fastener can be torqued to a precise specification for engineered installations.
T-bolt clamps are the standard hose clamp in turbocharger intercooler piping, charge air cooler (CAC) connections, radiator hose, marine exhaust, industrial rubber expansion joints, and any hose-to-fitting joint that will experience high pressure pulsation, thermal cycling, or vibration.
T-Bolt vs. Worm Drive Clamps
Worm drive (screw) clamps are the correct choice for low- to moderate-pressure hose connections up to approximately 2 in. diameter where maximum clamping force is not required. T-bolt clamps are specified when hose OD exceeds 1.5 in., working pressure is high, vibration is significant, or the connection must be torqued to specification. The T-bolt design holds its set torque better under vibration than a worm gear mechanism.
Material and Finish
Our T-bolt clamps are available in 304 stainless steel for corrosion resistance in marine, chemical, and outdoor environments. For fresh-water and indoor applications, zinc-plated steel T-bolt clamps offer a lower-cost option. Specify stainless for any outdoor, marine, or chemical exposure installation.
