Brass Check Valves

Brass check valves are automatic one-way flow control devices that open under forward pressure and snap closed the instant flow stops or reverses — protecting pumps, metering systems, gauges, and piping from backflow contamination and siphoning without any manual operation. Apex Flow Solutions stocks three distinct brass check valve configurations to cover the full range of industrial, water treatment, and chemical dosing applications.

500 PSI Female-Thread Spring Check Valves

Our highest-demand brass check valves are female NPT × female NPT spring-loaded poppet designs rated at 500 PSI WOG (Water, Oil, Gas). Available with Buna-N (NBR) seals for water, oil, and general service, and with Viton (FKM) seals for petroleum products, aggressive chemicals, and elevated-temperature applications. The spring-loaded poppet provides positive, low-cracking-pressure closing — critical in pump discharge lines and instrument manifolds where even a momentary backflow would contaminate or damage upstream equipment. Sizes run from 1/8 in. through 1 in. NPT.

Inline Poppet Check Valves

Brass inline poppet checks use the flowing fluid to lift the poppet off its seat and spring pressure to close it when flow stops. The all-brass wetted path handles water, compressed air, oil, and compatible process gases. These are the standard check valve for pump discharge manifolds, compressor outlet lines, and general plumbing backflow prevention.

Anti-Siphon Check Valves

Anti-siphon check valves — also called vacuum breakers or siphon breakers — mount at the discharge of chemical metering and peristaltic pumps to prevent back-migration of chemicals into the pump head and supply tubing when the pump stops. The hose barb inlet connects directly to the dosing pump discharge hose; the check mechanism prevents reverse flow and atmospheric ingress. These are an essential accessory in water treatment chemical dosing skids.

When to Choose Brass vs. Stainless vs. PVC

Brass check valves are the best-value choice for water, air, oil, and non-halogenated gas service at standard industrial pressures. For chlorine, sodium hypochlorite, muriatic acid, or other strongly corrosive chemicals, choose our 316 stainless steel check valves or PVC check valves instead. For potable water systems, select a lead-free certified model.
