Tape or pipe dope?
PTFE tape lubricates and seals threads and is quick and clean for most water and air joints. Pipe-joint compound fills the thread gaps and holds up better on larger threads, hot lines, and some chemical service. Plenty of pros use both on a demanding joint. Get the joint right
