Ball Valves
Ball valves are the standard shutoff solution for water, air, gas, oil, and most general industrial service. A quarter-turn of the lever gives you fast, reliable isolation with a positive closed position you can see at a glance. Apex Flow Solutions stocks brass, stainless steel, PVC, and mini ball valves in sizes from 1/8 inch through 4 inch, all sourced from Midland Industries and ready to ship.

How to Choose the Right Ball Valve
Material selection is the first decision. Brass ball valves handle water, air, compressed gas, oil, and mild chemicals at ambient temperature and cover the vast majority of industrial applications. If your media is corrosive, salty, or requires a sanitary-grade valve, step up to 316 stainless steel. For aggressive chemical service at lower pressures, or where metal corrosion is a concern, PVC or CPVC is the right call. For potable water on any line subject to code inspection, choose a lead-free brass valve certified to NSF/ANSI 61 and 372.
Port style is the next decision. Full port ball valves have a bore matching the pipe ID, giving you unrestricted flow with minimal pressure drop. Standard port valves use a bore one pipe size smaller, which reduces the valve’s overall length and cost. For most industrial isolation work, full port is the better long-term investment. When space is the constraint, the mini ball valve lineup covers 1/8” through 1/2” NPT.
Finally, confirm pressure and temperature ratings. Brass ball valves in our catalog are rated 600 WOG (water, oil, gas) at ambient temperature. Stainless steel valves reach 1,000 WOG. As temperature rises, allowable working pressure decreases — always verify the valve’s rating at your actual operating temperature, not just the nameplate number.
