Push-to-Connect Fittings | Adapters, Elbows & Tees | Apex Flow Solutions

Push-to-connect fittings make instant, tool-free tube connections — push the tube in, it locks under pressure, and releases with a simple collar press for reuse. Apex Flow Solutions stocks brass and composite push-to-connect fittings from Midland Industries in adapters, elbows, and tees for air lines, pneumatics, water, and instrumentation tubing.

How to Choose Push-to-Connect Fittings

Tube OD is the critical measurement — push-to-connect fittings grip the outside of the tube, so you size by the tube's outer diameter, not the ID. Common sizes are 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and 5/8" OD. Verify your tubing OD before ordering; metric and imperial tubing with similar IDs will have different ODs and are not interchangeable in the same fitting.

Body material determines pressure and chemical ratings. Brass push-to-connect fittings handle higher pressures and temperatures than composite nylon or polypropylene bodies, making them the right choice for compressed air systems, steam-adjacent installations, and applications with elevated temperatures. Composite or nylon fittings are lighter and economical for general pneumatics and water at standard conditions. For chemical lines, verify the body and O-ring material compatibility with your specific media.

Thread type on the threaded port is almost always NPT (National Pipe Taper) for North American installations. Confirm the fitting's thread specification matches your port. For connections between two tubes (no threaded port), look at union-style straight connectors and union elbows.
