Hose Barb Fittings | Adapters, Elbows & Tees | Apex Flow Solutions
Hose barb fittings connect flexible hose or tubing to threaded ports with a simple push-on connection secured by a hose clamp. The ridged barb profile grips the inside of the hose, and once clamped, holds reliably for air, water, fuel, coolant, and low-pressure fluid transfer. Apex Flow Solutions stocks brass hose barb adapters, elbows, and tees from Midland Industries in a full range of barb and thread sizes.

How to Choose Hose Barb Fittings
Hose barb fittings size by the hose ID they are designed to fit. The barb OD is slightly larger than the nominal hose ID, which provides the grip. Size your fitting to match the inside diameter of your hose — common sizes are 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", and 3/4" ID. The thread size on the port end is independent of the barb size, so a single adapter can step between different thread and hose sizes.
Always secure hose barb connections with a properly sized hose clamp — worm drive clamps for most general service, ear (pinch) clamps where a low-profile permanent connection is needed. Without a clamp, the connection can pull free under pressure or vibration. For high-pressure service, check the hose manufacturer's maximum working pressure rating with barbed fittings, as the pressure capacity depends on both the fitting and the hose wall thickness.
Brass barb fittings are compatible with most flexible hose materials — rubber, PVC, polyurethane, and silicone. For aggressive chemicals or solvents that would attack brass, consider stainless steel or polypropylene barb fittings for the specific media.
