Worm drive hose clamps — also called screw-band or worm gear clamps — are the universal method for securing flexible hose to barb fittings, pipe stubs, and hose barb adapters across virtually every fluid handling application. A stainless steel or zinc-plated steel band with a threaded worm gear allows precise tension adjustment with a standard screwdriver or nut driver, creating a leak-free seal that can be retightened after installation as the hose seats and relaxes.

Apex Flow Solutions stocks worm drive clamps in 300-series stainless steel (fully stainless band and housing), zinc-plated steel (standard duty), and all-stainless banding sizes from #4 through #104 — covering tubing and hose ODs from 5/16 in. to 6 in. We also carry ear clamps (single-use, permanent crimp style) for vibration-critical and under-hood automotive applications.
Stainless vs. Zinc-Plated
Stainless steel clamps (SAE Type 304 or 316) resist rust and corrosion in outdoor, marine, chemical, and food-processing environments. Zinc-plated clamps are the economical choice for indoor and low-moisture service where corrosion is not a concern. For water treatment chemical dosing systems and outdoor irrigation, always specify stainless. See our Hose Clamp Material Guide for a full comparison.
Clamp Sizing
Worm drive clamps are sized by their adjustment range (minimum and maximum diameter). Select a clamp whose range spans the assembled hose-over-barb OD at mid-range — not at the clamp's extremes — for maximum clamping force and retightening room.
